We are a paper manufacturer producing uncoated fine paper and pulp in five paper mills across Austria, Slovakia and South Africa, with customers around the globe. Our paper mills
Our papermaking expertise dates back centuries. Our paper mill for specialised papers Mondi Neusiedler in Austria dates back to 1793. Across all five mills worldwide, we produce sustainably sourced pulp and papers for office and professional printing, tailored to the latest professional digital and offset print technologies.
Mondi Neusiedler
At Mondi Neusiedler, we particularly focus on providing premium uncoated fine papers to meet the exacting needs of the creative and commercial print industries. Our paper machines in Austria are dedicated to producing well-known paper brands.
The PERGRAPHICA® portfolio, which includes a range of white and coloured premium design papers, is ideal for many different applications, including luxury packaging, books and publishing and corporate design projects. Color Copy – the leading colour laser printing brand – has been produced at Neusiedler since 1989 continuously delivering premium printing results, every time. The comprehensive NAUTILUS® portfolio of high-white recycled papers offers trouble-free printing. All office and packaging papers produced at Mondi Neusiedler are FSC™ certified*.
Mondi SCP
Mondi SCP in Ružomberok is one of Mondi’s largest plants and is the biggest integrated mill producing paper and pulp in the Slovak Republic. Paper has been produced in Ružomberok for over 300 years. The abundance of the raw materials like wood, water, and energy has had a favourable influence on the development of the mill. The wood comes from certified, well-managed forests under FSC™ as well PEFC schemes.
Paper brands such as the professional printing paper IQ PRINT or the high-quality office paper MAESTRO® expert are produced at this site.
Mondi Merebank
Our Merebank mill in South Africa produces a range of office paper products including the premium South African brand, Mondi Rotatrim.
At Mondi Merebank, uncoated woodfree paper is produced using fibre from responsible wood sources. Mondi owns 250,000 hectares of planted land in South Africa, of which 100% is FSC™ certified. All Mondi Merebank office and printing papers are FSC™ Chain of Custody certified*.
Sustainability
Made from responsibly sourced fibres and optimised for recyclability, Mondi’s entire portfolio of uncoated papers offers flawless quality, without compromising sustainability standards. In other words, the Mondi paper portfolio is sustainable by design.
But there is no need to simply take our word for it, because we are also proud to carry several globally respected certifications. Amongst others, these include: FSCTM, which ensures our paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests; EU Ecolabel, which is only awarded to products that demonstrate reduced environmental impact throughout their lifecycle; as well as Cradle to Cradle Certified®, which reflects our commitment to circular design from production through to post-use. Glossary
Uncoated paper
Uncoated paper uses no coating. That means it is not glossy and its rougher surface gives it a more natural feel.
Fine or woodfree paper
This is paper made from chemical pulps, where lignin has been removed from the fibres. This makes it more durable as it won’t yellow.
